Threat Condition

Did a duty few days back on Monday.

It has been implemented that during the day, duty personnels are supposed to do a scan on those who enter the building. We were given a gadget that could easily sense if there were any metallic objects found on the person.

It is known as a Metal detector.
It is also known as a Weapon detector.
To me, it's just another lame ass piece of crap.

I could still remember that I had attended a lecture taught by a warrant officer on how to properly scan a person using the detector.
The warrant officer is quite a popular guy among all of us, since he has distinctive behaviours which make him easily to be remembered.
Warrant Lim, if I recalled correctly.

Lim is considered to be one of the strictest and so called 'Garang' in our area.
Garang meaning fierce or hardcore in the aspects of military conduct.
Unfortunately, he has a bad habit of fidgeting his neck and shoulders all the time. It could be due to a major injury causing his nerves to breakdown or listening to too much techno and shaking his head right in front of a blasting speaker.

Probably Parkinson's Disease.

He shakes so much that he looks as though he is dancing from afar.
Michael Jackson is the name people have been mentioning about him all this while. And I, myself have been noticing that he blinks his eyes faster and more times than normal. Not only can he be labeled as the King of Pop, he can also be known as...

Blink 182.

Lim did a demonstration on the basics of how to scan a person for weapons and chose a guy from the crowd to try it out.

'Ah you!'
'Ah Goh! Ya, come out.'

He pointed at me and told me to step up front. I didn't expect myself to be chosen since my name wasn't usually called during lucky draws.
I made my way beside him and took the detector from him. He then picked another guy out to be the person I had to scan.
The guy happened to be Edwin and I started off by asking him to empty his pockets.
He emptied his pockets, raised his arms and I began using the gadget to brush against his uniform from top to bottom. All the while with my left hand in my pocket and using only my right to scan. I was doing it like as though there were many girls behind me and I had to look cool together with style.
Lim told me off in a joking manner and instructed me to be more professional. I had to look serious and be more effective. He said that the detector isn't an iron so there isn't a need to be brushing against the body. To be brushing onto the person would be like ironing his clothes for him. The detector is pretty sensitive so it could be kept a distance while searching the whole body.
I scanned again this time round and completed the top part.
Edwin was standing his back facing me and with his legs apart. I ran through in between up his left leg, followed by the right. Then I continued straight up till I couldn't get any further.

I almost shafted the detector up Edwin's ass.

He gave a sudden jerk the moment I ended up at his sensitive area. Like a intense sensation of some sort. Lim asked me why I did that and everybody laughed.
I am sorry for what I did.
But there was bound to be a tendency for me to be naughty since I was holding a long object and in between a pair of legs.
I could actually hear vague voices from deep inside Edwin calling out to me to sodomise him.

Back on Monday, I didn't scan anybody though.
I was just sitting there and playing stupid games on the computer.
There was a point of time where Dr Kelvin came over to me and ask me if I did scan anyone.

'Not really leh, sir.'
I looked at him in the eye and gave a smile.
The kind of smile which interprets like,
'Get real.'
'Do you actually believe anyone would do such a thing?'
He then told me that if warrant Lim came around and caught anyone not scanning, the person would then be charged $50.
What kind of a sick joke is this.

Anyway, that time was around 4 plus in the late afternoon and I knew it didn't matter to me already. All I had to do was close up the station, get a good rest overnight and hand over to the next duty personnel the next morning.

I could easily tell Lim that I had scanned some of the people randomly. I could say that I did it when everyone else was busy with their own stuffs and without them witnessing.

To be truthful, I did scan a few people on that day.

But they were my colleagues and I told them to stop when I saw them pushing a trolley filled with boxes. They told me that those were papers inside but I wasn't convinced. I used the detector and ran through all of the boxes. I not only scanned the boxes carefully but my colleagues as well. I had to make sure everything was clear before I could let them go pass.

'Ok! Go ahead.'

I was obeying orders and just doing my job but they said something to me which pierced my heart.

'Si bei Bo Liao.'
